The spring of 2022 in Ukraine brought scenes in which lightly armed infantry stood up to armored columns. A whole series of images came out of that which quickly became part of the visual memory of the conflict, and modeling figures follow on from them. This set is one of them: it carries the defiant stance of a soldier facing an attacking armored vehicle.
The package contains a figure in 1:35 scale in an unpainted version. The figure is rendered in modern field kit, that is in a uniform with a plate carrier and the tactical accessories worn in this period. Before building it pays to assemble the parts dry and to find a place for the figure in the intended scene.
A figure with a pronounced stance needs matching surroundings, or the gesture rings hollow. It works well to place it in a scene with a vehicle or with city buildings and to turn it so that its gaze and the axis of its body point toward the opponent. The uniform is easier built from a lighter base with the patches of the pattern painted in with a thin brush; a final weak glaze will unify the transitions. The knees, boots and the lower edge of the trousers will take dust weathering.
The set is intended for builders of modern dioramas and models of armored equipment in 1:35 scale who want to bring human scale and tension into a scene. The package contains only the figure. The model of the vehicle, paints, glue and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
