Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the frames of the cockpit and for the wheel hubs of the German Dornier Do 217N-1 night fighter in 1:48 scale. They correspond in shape to the ICM kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 217N-1 is the night fighter version of the German twin-engine Do 217 bomber. The glazed nose of the bomber variant gave way on it to a solid nose with armament, but the glazing above the pilot's compartment stayed divided into a large number of small panels. It is exactly this grid of frames that makes painting the cockpit the most drawn-out part of the build, especially in 1:48 scale, where the frames are clearly visible.
The set consists of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the frames of the cockpit and masks for the wheel hubs. The cuts correspond to the shape of the parts of the ICM kit, so it is enough to lift them off the backing film and settle them.
First wash the clear parts and let them dry, as a mask comes off a greasy surface. Fit the masks with tweezers, dry, and press them down around their whole perimeter, so that the paint does not run under the edge. Spray the frames first with the interior color and only then with the outer shade; the transition then looks the same as on a real aircraft. Take the masks off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
The set suits anyone who builds the Do 217N-1 in 1:48 scale and wants the frames of the cockpit sharp and the wheel hubs cleanly separated from the tires. The package contains only masks; the model, paints and glue are not in it, unless stated otherwise.
