The 1:144 scale gives the finished model a reasonable size even with an aircraft of this category and suits collections of transport machines. The model is unassembled and without a finish.
The C-54 Skymaster came about as the military form of the civil four-engine Douglas transport. During the Second World War it served for long-range movements across the oceans, where its range and payload made connections between continents possible without lengthy intermediate stops. Its postwar role is even better known: in supplying the cut-off part of Berlin the Skymasters were among the mainstays of the airlift and carried a decisive share of the cargo. In specially modified versions the type also carried the highest representatives of the state.
With natural metal it pays to lay a gloss black base and only then the metallic shade, ideally area by area with a slightly different tone. Mask the cockpit transparencies and the fuselage windows before spraying. Polish the surface with a clear coat before the decals and, once they have dried, unify everything with a flat or semi-gloss overcoat according to the look you choose.
The kit is unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessory sets do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
