The set contains two turned metal barrels for the aircraft cannon derived from the 3.7 cm Flak 18 anti-aircraft gun in 1:144 scale. In its designation the manufacturer states that the weapon was used among other places on the Ju 87G. It is a metal accessory for the build, not a kit. In 1:144 scale it is exactly the thin long barrel that is the most vulnerable part of a whole model, because in plastic it comes out as a hair-thin spike that bends even as it is taken off the frame.
The 3.7 cm cannon was based on the design of the ground anti-aircraft gun and in its aircraft installation it was carried in gun pods under the wing. It was a typical example of large-caliber aircraft armament with a long barrel and a low rate of fire, intended for firing at harder targets. The long barrel projected markedly beyond the outline of the gun pod and is therefore very conspicuous on a model.
Remove the plastic barrels from the model with a sharp scalpel and level the surface with a fine file, not with sandpaper, which in this scale takes off more than you want. Drill the hole with a micro drill in a hand vise, not in an electric drill, because in 1:144 a tenth of a millimeter off and the hole goes through the wall of the gun pod. Fit both barrels dry and check that they are symmetrical and stand out by the same amount, and only then add a drop of cyanoacrylate with the tip of a pin. In this scale it is better not to paint the metal with a covering color, which would flood the detail: it is enough to degrease it and darken it with a blackening solution or a thin wash.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
