Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D printed resin accessory with which you replace the air brakes on a finished model of the BAe Hawk T2 trainer. The set is cut for the Kinetic and Revell models in 1:32 scale, which with this brand is the distinguishing detail, because Reskit also issues comparable parts for other makers and in other scales. The 3D printing technology allows thinner walls and crisper edges than injection molding can reach, and on brakes with a visible inner face that tells at first glance.
BAe Hawk T2 is the designation under which the Royal Air Force operates an advanced trainer derived from the modernized Hawk 100 series. Compared with the older T1 machines it has reworked avionics, a new cockpit with displays and a modified airframe. It serves for the advanced training of pilots before they move on to combat types. The air brakes are a prominent feature of the lower fuselage of the Hawk and are often extended when it stands on the ground, so they come in on a model at once.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the remains of the print supports; proceed carefully on thin surfaces, as thin 3D printed resin is strong but brittle in bending. First mark the opening on the model and cut it out dry, and only then tune the mating surfaces by sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer; the inner faces of the brakes and the bay are usually painted differently from the surface of the airframe and brought out with a fine wash, because it is precisely the contrast of an open bay that makes the final impression.
