This is not an airplane model but a replacement part. On jet aircraft the exhaust nozzles are among the most closely watched places on the model: they have a complex geometry of overlapping segments, they are visible from the outside as well as into the inside, and in the basic box they are usually done as two halves with a seam exactly where it should not be. The cast replacement solves that problem with a single part with crisp segment edges and with a worked-out interior that really carries detail when seen from behind. In 1:32 scale the difference is especially plain - a large model draws the eye precisely to the places where plastic simplifies.
Reskit makes the nozzles for the Super Hornet in two forms. The difference between type 1 and type 2 is not stated here; both versions are made side by side, so it pays to check the manufacturer's data before ordering. The set is built for one particular basic kit, which matters greatly with parts that have to seat this precisely - before fitting it to a different kit, expect to rework the mating surface.
The castings are separated from the casting block with a fine saw or with repeated cuts of a sharp scalpel, never by snapping them off - the thin wall of the nozzle would crack. Level the remains of the stub with a file and fine abrasive paper, ideally wet so that no dust is raised. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent before gluing and let them dry thoroughly; any remnant of the mold release agent will reliably stop the paint from keying. They are glued with cyanoacrylate. Painting is half the result here: the inside of the nozzle is usually markedly different from the surrounding surface, with heat discoloration shading from dark metal to lighter and grayish tones toward the mouth. It works well to build the shade up in thin coats and to blend the transitions softly, then once dry to pick out the edges of the segments with a thin dark wash and to tune the rest with dry pigments.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The basic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. When sanding resin, work wet and protect your airways.
