A double-sided mask set for the Gloster Meteor F.8 in 1:32 scale. It covers the glazing from the outside and the inside, so that the frames get an interior as well as an exterior shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
In a large scale the pilot's compartment is an open stage. The viewer sees the seat through the canopy and the inner side of the frames as well, and on British jet machines of the early 1950s that was not in the same shade as the outer camouflage. It is exactly this difference that an ordinary single-sided mask cannot solve.
Where the difference lies: the sheet holds two sets of shapes. One follows the frames from the outside, the other is mirrored for sticking inside the cockpit. That lets you spray the interior color of the framing first and then the whole outside, and the glazing stays clean on both sides. Discs for the wheels tend to be part of it as well.
The recommended procedure: stick the inner pieces on before the fuselage is closed, while the cockpit is still accessible. Press the film from the center to the edges, so that no air is left under it. Lay the outer mask on only once the interior has dried, and pull it off first.
The subject is the same as with the ordinary single-sided variant, but the scope of the work is larger. Choose according to whether you plan to have the canopy open. The package holds the masking sheet, nothing else.
A little history about the colors: Meteor F.8s flew with British squadrons until roughly the middle of the 1950s and then served for a long time as trainers and target tugs. They carried conspicuous stripes and warning shades in the process, which are among the main reasons why this type is built in a large scale in particular.
