Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese light cruiser Tama in 1:700 scale from Tamiya, part of the popular Waterline series. The model has the hull rendered to the waterline, so once finished it shows the ship as she looks afloat. The Waterline series is designed for collectors building fleets in a single scale and on a common stretch of water.
The Tama was a light cruiser of the Kuma class of the Imperial Japanese Navy from the period before and during the Second World War. Ships of this class served as fast cruisers, as leaders of destroyer squadrons and for escort and patrol duties. The Tama was used in the Pacific theater and was sunk at the end of the war.
A hull rendered to the waterline does not need a stand; it comes into its own on a painted stretch of water. The fine superstructures and masts can be completed with photo-etched railings and rigging from stretched sprue or thread. We recommend a base coat with an airbrush, picking the deck details out with a wash and dry-brushing along the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
