9M38 Surface-to-air Missile Display Racks and Missile Container is a resin add-on set from Meng in 1:35 scale with racks for surface-to-air missiles and a transport container. It is not a model of a vehicle.

This is an add-on diorama set, not a model of a vehicle or of a missile system. The set is cast in resin in 1:35 scale and contains storage and handling racks for 9M38 surface-to-air guided missiles and a transport container that can be built open or closed according to the instructions. The set is intended to complete the scene around a model of a ground-based surface-to-air missile system in the same scale, typically to show the transport, the storage and the loading of the missiles.
Models of combat equipment look static on their own. The support element, that is, the transport crates, the racks and the handling equipment, gives a diorama a story and a scale. The open container moreover makes it possible to show a missile in its stowed position, a view you will never see on a finished model on a launcher. The set will therefore be used above all by builders of dioramas with ground-based air defense, but it will also serve as a standalone display case scene.
Before gluing, wash the resin parts in warm water with dish soap so that the remains of the mold release agent from the mold are removed, otherwise paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter, and do not break them off. Resin has to be sanded with respiratory protection, best of all wet, as the dust is fine and irritating. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is, with super glue, as ordinary glue for plastic has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting. The wooden crates and the metal racks will be brought to life by a wash in the joints and light dry-brushing of the edges, and pigments on the lower parts will give the dust and mud of a storage area.
This is a resin add-on set for more experienced modelers. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
