A color three-dimensional cockpit interior for the Academy kit of the AH-1Z attack helicopter in 1:35 scale. It replaces the flat surfaces of the instrument panels and side consoles with elements that have real depth and color.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AH-1Z is a US Marine Corps attack helicopter that came out of a deep modernization of the older Cobra family. The crew sits in tandem, under the nose there is a turreted cannon and the stub wings carry racks for the armament. The cockpit is markedly more modern than on the older versions, and in 1:35 scale a great deal of it is visible under a raised canopy.
The set brings a color three-dimensional interior for the Academy AH-1Z kit. The elements of the instrument panels, the side consoles and other parts of both cockpits are formed in relief and pre-colored, so the laborious hand painting of small dials and controls falls away. They are shaped to match that particular kit, so they sit in the existing recesses without major adjustment.
Spray the surfaces of the cockpit with a base color and let it cure thoroughly, so that the surface is smooth, clean and degreased. Work from the large panels to the small elements and keep dry-fitting the parts while the fuselage halves are still apart. The particular application procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set. Check in them how the elements are attached to the parts before you apply them; the procedure differs between the individual Kelik ranges.
The set suits a modeler who wants the cockpit of a helicopter finished quickly and yet faithfully, without painting the individual instruments with a brush. Working with it calls for tidiness and a calm hand, but needs no special tools.
The package contains this set only. The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
