This injection-molded plastic kit from the maker Bronco represents the American Buffalo 6x6 MPCV heavy vehicle in the version with slat (cage) armor in 1:35 scale. The model captures the characteristic tall mine-resistant hull, the work arm and the set of cage armor; a remotely operated weapon station is included as well.
The Buffalo is a vehicle of the MRAP category with 6x6 drive and a V-shaped hull, which deflects the blast wave of an explosion. It serves to find and remove improvised explosives and to clear routes, using an articulated mechanical arm for the job. Slat (cage) armor raises the protection against shaped-charge projectiles such as RPG rounds.
Fit the cage armor and the work arm only after the base coat, so that they paint well. A desert finish is best airbrushed over a colored base coat (primer) for plastic; add a wash and strong dust effects from pigments at the end. Paint the remotely operated weapon station separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
