This item is not a vehicle kit but a detail correction part from the brand CMK, printed by 3D technology. It replaces the gun mantlet of the so-called Saukopf type in the long form that the machines of the middle and late production batches carried. The part is intended to be swapped for the piece from the box and solves a shape that is the first thing seen on a model.
The light tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38, nicknamed the Hetzer, was based on the chassis of the Czechoslovak tank Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) and was built from 1944 in Czechoslovakia. It was a low, fully armored vehicle with the gun in the front plate of the hull. Instead of a rotating turret it carried the gun covered by a cast mantlet, whose rounded shape gave rise to the nickname pig's head, in German Saukopf. The mantlet changed during production and existed in a shorter and a longer form; the longer form corresponds to the later machines.
First wash the printed parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that the remains of uncured resin are removed. Cut the printing supports off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and sand the marks they leave away wet. Cut the original plastic part off the model carefully and level the surface, try the new mantlet dry and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, apply a primer filler that unifies the surface of the resin and the plastic. The cast surface of the mantlet comes out well with a dark wash and with a dry brush, which draws out the structure of the casting.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The vehicle model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
