Door hardware for the Kfz.1 / Kfz.2 Type 170 VK 1:35 from HGW is a fine detail set that replaces the simplified door hinges, handles and catches with convincing miniatures in etched metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a fine supplementary set from HGW, not a standalone model. The set reproduces the door hardware of the German light car Type 170 VK in 1:35 scale: hinges, handles, locks and other small details, which on plastic parts are usually no more than suggested. The etched and fine parts bring the surface markedly to life and move it closer to the real thing.
The Mercedes-Benz Type 170 VK served during the Second World War as a light staff car (Kfz.1) and, in a radio version, as the Kfz.2. It was a four-wheeled vehicle derived from a civilian passenger car, used for liaison and for carrying officers. Faithful door hardware is among the details that markedly raise the sense of realism on a model in this scale.
Separate the etched parts with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and bend them with a photo-etch bender or two rulers. For bonding, use cyanoacrylate glue or a small amount of two-part epoxy. Degrease the parts before painting; for the best paint adhesion we recommend a fine primer.
This is a supplementary detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
