An accessory set of small containers for dioramas and the cargo areas of vehicles in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. It is not a model of a vehicle or a kit of equipment: the set serves as accessories that fill a cargo bed, a corner of a store or the space by a building and give a scene its sense of scale and life. According to the name these are containers of the plastic type, that is barrels and cans of a modern look.
Small containers are among the most rewarding accessories for a diorama. Placed around a vehicle or in a cargo bed they reveal what is going on in the scene and at the same time fill the empty areas that otherwise look artificial. They can also be used as a base for lettering, labels and the small clutter that moves a scene from a display model toward a picture of real activity.
First cut the containers off the sprue gates and clean up the parting seam, as it will otherwise stand out once painted. Plastic containers do not rust in reality, so instead of rust reach for other effects: scuffed edges, a surface faded by the sun, dusty lower parts and spilled traces around the caps. Apply a saturated base shade over a primer, then bring out the pressed details with a dark wash and finally unify the surface with a flat clear coat. Paint a few pieces differently, as a uniform row of identical containers looks unconvincing.
The set is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
