An accessory set of the power transmission system for the light Sd.Kfz. 250 half-track carrier in its early form, in 1:35 scale. The parts are made by 3D printing and fit Dragon kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light German armored half-track carrier of the Second World War. It served mainly with reconnaissance and signals units and, in a range of adaptations, as a weapons carrier too. The qualifier Alte marks the older form of the hull with its faceted welded body, which later production replaced with a simplified shape with fewer surfaces.
The set adds the vehicle's power transmission system to a model in 1:35 scale. The parts are made by 3D printing, so they carry fine shapes and edges of a kind that reach an injection mold only with difficulty. They come into their own wherever the vehicle is to be built with the engine compartment open or as part of a diorama with hardware taken apart.
The parts are held on print supports. Cut them off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remaining stub back with fine sandpaper so that the surface stays smooth. The material is not polystyrene, so use super glue on the joints. Before painting, wash the whole thing in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry. Lay the paint on in thin coats over a primer, or the shades will run together easily on the small shapes.
It will be valued by modelers who want to show, on a well known kit, what is normally hidden under the metal and who are not put off by work with small parts. The package holds only the accessory parts described. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
