Note that this is neither a vehicle model nor a set of figures. It is an add-on set of parts: small arms and personal equipment used by American tank crews and infantry, in 1:35 scale. You will use it anywhere you want to bring a vehicle interior to life, or a truck bed, or the boxes on the fenders, or simply to give figures what their original package left out.
The difference between a nicely built model and one that looks genuinely used is usually made by small things. A weapon set aside, a helmet hung on the edge of a bed, a pack stuffed under a seat or a cartridge belt slung over a turret. These details give a scene a story and at the same time help in practice: they cover less successful spots and break up large empty areas. The set is therefore rewarding even for a modeler who is not building a whole diorama and just wants to make one vehicle look lived in.
The parts are small, so cut them off with a sharp scalpel right at the gate and work over a surface so that nothing disappears on you. Glue with a small amount of liquid cement for plastic. It pays to paint them while still on the sprue: the base with an airbrush, the fine-tuning with a brush. Fabric parts take a dark wash and light edge highlighting with a dry brush, while metal parts suit a graphite pencil or a dark metallic shade with careful polishing. Do wooden stocks with an ocher base and an oil glaze into brown. Only at the end place the parts on the model and check whether the result looks logical, that is, whether the crew would really have put the thing there.
