The set contains a broken-down frame and running gear, a cab with an interior, clear parts, an engine, the tanker body and photo-etched parts; the exact contents are given on the box.
The GMC CCKW was a 2.5 ton 6x6 truck, one of the most important workhorses of the American army in the Second World War and in the Korean War; the soldiers nicknamed it the deuce and a half or the Jimmy. It was built in many forms, with an open as well as a closed cab and with various bodies. The tanker version with a 750 gallon tank supplied fuel to vehicles and equipment directly in the field and was part of the indispensable logistics of a front: without a steady flow of fuel no mechanized offensive could manage. It was exactly these ordinary but crucial vehicles that kept the tanks and the truck columns moving.
Assemble and paint the frame, the engine and the cab interior before you close the whole thing up; mask the glazing before spraying. Bring out the tanker body and the fuel lines with paint chipping and traces of drips. Even the base out with an olive green tone and weather the running gear and the wheels with dust and mud pigments. Make use of the optional winch and the hood that opens to bring the scene to life.
