A 13 mm ammunition belt for the MG 131 machine gun in 1:48 scale from 3DF is a detail accessory for the open gun bays of German aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set deals with one particular detail that kits usually skimp on: the ammunition belt running to the machine gun. It is intended for 1:48 scale and for the German MG 131 aircraft machine gun. It comes into its own wherever a gun bay or a defensive position is open and the space inside can be seen.
The MG 131 was a German aircraft machine gun of 13 mm caliber which during the Second World War replaced older weapons of smaller caliber. It used a round designated 13x64 with electric priming, which made it easy to synchronize with firing through the propeller. It appeared in the engine cowling of fighters and in the defensive positions of bombers, where the belt of ammunition ran from the box straight into the weapon. That stretch is exactly the part visible on models, and a missing or crudely suggested belt gives away production plastic at once.
Separate the belt with enough material to spare and sand the remaining carrier material off only once the primer has dried, when it is easier to see. Add a dark wash to the brass shade of the cases so that the individual links stand out, and set the tips of the bullets apart. A little drybrushing at the end helps to bring out the metallic sheen.
The paints, the glue and the model are not in the package.
