This set of plastic figures in 1:35 scale from Master Box (Ukraine) represents members of the German home guard known as the Volkssturm in the last months of the Second World War. The package contains five unassembled and unpainted figures on one sprue, with a few accessories. The figures have the usual breakdown of parts (separate torsos, limbs and heads).
The Volkssturm was a German home guard set up in the autumn of 1944. Men who were not in the regular army were called up into it, from adolescent boys to the older age groups. The units were armed and equipped as an emergency measure, often with only part of a uniform or in civilian clothing. The set captures this mismatched character factually, as a scene of its time.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and clean up the mold seams. Apply a primer before painting; shade the faces and the hands, and the mixture of uniform and civilian items allows a varied palette. A combination of brush and airbrush works well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
