Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German ocean-going Type IX-B submarine in 1:350 scale from Hobby Boss. The model can be assembled as a full-hull version on a stand or as a waterline model cut at the waterline. The box is completed by photo-etched parts for the conning tower and the fine details, together with a stand and a nameplate.
Type IX-B was an improved version of the basic Type IX. Compared with the IX-A it received greater fuel stowage and with it markedly longer range, at only slightly greater weight. It was precisely these long-range qualities that made the IX-B one of the most successful German submarine classes in combat, able to operate far from its home bases.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and join them with liquid cement for plastic. Decide in advance whether you are building a full hull or a waterline model and choose the stand or a base accordingly. Glue the small photo-etched parts with super glue. Treat the hull with a primer and then apply the gray shades of the hull and the darker deck with an airbrush. A thin dark wash will bring out the panel lines and the hatches.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
