About product

Set of 460 mm barrels for the Yamato and Musashi (1:350, Aber)

A set of nine turned brass barrels of 460 mm caliber in 1:350 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It is a metal aftermarket accessory, not a kit. The barrels replace the plastic barrels of the main battery on models of the Japanese battleships Yamato and Musashi. The number of nine pieces matches three triple turrets.

The real subject

The battleships Yamato and Musashi carried the most powerful naval guns ever deployed, of 460 mm caliber. Nine of these guns were mounted in three massive triple turrets. Both ships were among the largest battleships in history and were operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Second World War.

Installation tips

Turned barrels capture the massive profile of the guns far more faithfully than plastic. Cut the plastic barrels off, clean the openings in the turrets up, degrease the brass and fit them with super glue. It is advisable to prime the metal before painting.

Who the set is for

  • builders of models of the Japanese battleships Yamato and Musashi in 1:350
  • modelers who want faithful and tough barrels for the main battery
  • collectors of Second World War naval subjects

This is a metal detail accessory. The ship model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
