This is not an aircraft model but a masking set from Omask intended for building the Avia S-199 model in 1:48 scale from Eduard. The set contains self-adhesive masking templates for the cockpit glazing and foam (EVA) plugs for the landing gear bays. It is an accessory that makes painting faster and more precise, but it calls for a separately purchased base kit.
The masking templates follow the framing of the glazing exactly, so when spraying with an airbrush you create sharp and clean transitions between the frames and the transparent areas without laboriously cutting tape. The EVA plugs close the landing gear bays reliably and protect them against overspray. The result is a cleanly unmasked cockpit and landing gear bays with no paint run in.
Degrease the glazing before masking and press the masks down with a blunt tool, so that they adhere well all around the frames. Spray in thin coats perpendicular to the surface, so that the paint does not run under the edge of the mask. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, so that the finish does not tear. Insert the EVA plugs into the bays before painting the lower surfaces.
This is an accessory (a masking set) that calls for a separately purchased base kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
