An injection-molded plastic kit of the American EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft in 1:48 scale from Meng. It is a modern tooling with rich equipment; the box contains pre-formed stainless steel photo-etched parts, pre-cut masking film and decals for three marking schemes. The assembled model is around 38 cm long.
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is an American two-seat carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter-bomber. It serves to jam enemy radars and communications and to suppress air defenses. It carries the characteristic ALQ-99 jamming pods, ALQ-218 tactical receivers on the wingtips and AGM-88 anti-radiation missiles. It is the backbone of the electronic warfare capability of the US Navy.
Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Finish the roomy two-seat cockpit before you close the fuselage. The kit makes it possible to show folded wings and movable flaps and slats as options and to add external stores and jamming pods. Apply a primer before painting and put the colors on with an airbrush; the masks enclosed make the cockpit glazing easier and the subtle gray camouflage comes out well with emphasized panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
