This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss represents the Chinese J-5 jet fighter in People's Liberation Army service. The model offers finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and engine section, optional positions for the flaps and air brakes, and drop tanks.
The J-5 was the Chinese license-built version of the Soviet MiG-17F fighter, produced at the Shenyang plant. It was a single-seat subsonic fighter and interceptor with a swept wing, and it formed the backbone of Chinese fighter aviation from the second half of the 1950s. Production ran at Shenyang and the type served in large numbers.
Glue with liquid cement for plastic and sand the fuselage seams carefully. The natural metal finish or the green camouflage typical of these machines needs a smooth base. The optional flaps and air brakes let you liven the model up in a parked pose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
