The clear vacuform canopy 1:48 Dassault-Mirage 2000C open/closed from Rob Taurus lets you build the French fighter with the canopy slid back or closed down.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory holds the clear parts of the cockpit area, vacuum-formed from thin film. The open and closed designation means that the canopy can be shown on the model slid back as well as lowered into the closed position, and the forming is set up for that. The material is clear and free of distortion, so a well-equipped area underneath will show.
The tailless delta returned to the scene at Dassault at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, this time with fly-by-wire controls that keep a deliberately unstable airframe within limits. The letter C denotes the single-seat interceptor version with one M53 engine and an onboard radar. The first machines entered service with the French Air Force in the mid-1980s and the type then sold to a number of countries in the Middle East and Asia.
Cut the molding out with some margin, level the edge by sanding on a flat surface and keep dry-fitting it into the fuselage. Glue it with a product meant for clear parts, or with super glue gel applied drop by drop on a pin. Narrow strips of masking tape will create the framing; it is best to paint the matte surfaces under the canopy before you set the glazing in place.
