The North American F-82 Twin Mustang is one of the most striking aircraft of its day. It came about by joining two fuselages derived from the famous Mustang with a common center wing and a continuous horizontal tail surface. The purpose was to escort bombers on very long routes, where a single pilot could not manage the mission. The aircraft no longer took part in the fighting of the Second World War, but it remained in the armament of the postwar US Air Force and, in the night fighter form recognizable by the pod under the center wing, it reached the opening of the Korean War.
This is an add-on set for a model of the F-82 in 1:48 scale. What exactly it contains and where on the model it belongs are given in the manufacturer's instructions, which you should go through before building, because many accessories are fitted before the main assemblies are glued together. Add-on sets are usually inserted in place of a part from the kit, so expect to have to cut away the original plastic part and sand out its seat.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic does not work on them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand off the remainder carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and let them dry. Always dry-fit first and only then glue.
