How ZOOM differs from a full photo-etch set

The ZOOM line is a deliberately simplified, reduced-scope variant of a standard photo-etched set. While a full set includes, besides the colored parts, an extensive sheet of unpainted photo-etch (small reinforcements, flaps, straps, exterior details) and calls for deeper work on the plastic parts, ZOOM selects only the key, pre-painted parts from the whole program — typically the instrument panel, side panels, and seat belts. The scope is therefore smaller and the work faster. It is an ideal compromise for a modeler who wants a visible effect in the cockpit without taking on the build of a complex photo-etch set.

Use

• Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface — never tear them out.
• Do not paint or varnish the pre-painted parts, as this would destroy the printed finish; glue them only after the plastic has been painted.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate or a photo-etch adhesive; regular plastic cement will not bond the etch.
• Lightly shape the belts with tweezers before gluing so they look naturally slack.
• Sometimes the plastic original (for example, the instrument panel relief) needs to be sanded down for the etch to sit properly.
