This is an add-on set of aircraft armament, not an aircraft model. The box from Reskit contains two resin, or possibly 3D-printed, GBU-24 laser-guided bombs in 1:48 scale. The set is intended for realistically arming models of modern strike aircraft, which commonly carried this munition.
The GBU-24 belongs to the Paveway III family of laser-guided bombs. It is a heavier guided bomb with an extended guidance and stabilizing assembly, used for precise hits on heavily defended or hardened targets. It was carried by a number of combat aircraft, among them the A-6, the F-15E, the F-16 and the F/A-18.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. Bond with super glue. The guidance and stabilizing surfaces are fine, so handle them with care. Paint the body of the bomb according to the particular use and add technical markings and light weathering.
An add-on set. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
