A set of replacement wheels in 1:48 scale for the Soviet Yak-7 and Yak-9, La-5 and La-7, LaGG-3, I-185 and MiG-3 aircraft, in the form used for operations from unpaved airfields.
Responsibility details are not available.
The wheels of an aircraft model are seen close up and from below, and they are among the parts where the difference between coarse and fine work shows most. This set replaces them in 1:48 scale for Soviet fighters of the Second World War, namely the Yak-7 and Yak-9, La-5 and La-7, LaGG-3, I-185 and MiG-3 types. It represents the form used on machines operated from unpaved field airstrips, that is from grass and earth rather than from concrete runways.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models will not work on them and they are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder carefully so that you do not disturb the shape of the tire. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. How many pieces the box contains and which kit the set is cut for is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paint the tire and the hub separately and fit them only afterwards, because on a finished gear leg a brush reaches the edges of the hub badly. Fit the wheel so that it stands square and so that the finished model rests on all its contact points at once. A dry pigment or a fine pastel will give the tire the dusty look that suits a field airstrip.
The kit, glue and paints are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
