A pair of seats for models of the Italian Macchi C.202 and C.205 fighters in 1:48 scale. The seats come without belts, so you add the harness as you see fit.

The Macchi C.202 Folgore and the C.205 that followed it were among the best Italian fighters of the Second World War. They were powered by liquid-cooled V12 engines built in Italy under Daimler-Benz license, which gave both types a slender nose and performance comparable with their contemporaries. The cockpits of the two aircraft stayed close to each other, so the seats can be used for both families of models.
The package holds two seats in 1:48 scale. They come without belts, which is an advantage for modelers who want to use a photo-etched harness or to make the belts themselves from thin foil and colored paper. The seat then stays clean and the belts can be laid into a natural shape, which a cast one-piece assembly never quite achieves.
The parts are not polystyrene, so bond them with super glue. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand off the rest so that a flat seating surface remains. Before painting, wash and degrease the seat. Paint it before gluing it into the cockpit, while you can still reach it from every side, and bring out the shadows in the pressings with a darker glaze. Add the belts last, so that they are not bent while you handle the model. The exact way to prepare the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set will please modelers of Italian fighters and builders who like to finish an interior with belts of their own. Two seats in the package are enough for two models, or leave a spare in case the first attempt at painting does not come off.
The package contains only the parts described. The kit, belts, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
