This is a detail set in resin, not a model of an aircraft. The package holds four Mk.82 aircraft bombs fitted with Mk.15 Snakeye retarding tail fins in 1:48 scale. The set serves for hanging under models of combat aircraft.
The Mk.82 is an American general-purpose aircraft bomb of a nominal weight of around 500 pounds, one of the most widespread aircraft bombs of Western manufacture. The Mk.15 Snakeye retarding fins open out after release and slow the fall of the bomb, so that the aircraft has time to leave the area of the explosion safely when dropping from low altitude.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks off and clean the surfaces up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Pick the opened blades of the fins out with a shade and add the appropriate color markings of the bombs.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
