A complete photo-etched sheet for the MiG-17F fighter in 1:48 scale. It equips the cockpit and the outside of the airframe with thin metal parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-17F got an afterburning engine in its tail and became a nimble day fighter that could turn in a space where heavier opponents merely flashed past. That is exactly why it was such an unpleasant adversary over Vietnam: cannon instead of missiles, small size and a turn that supersonic machines could not match. It was built in enormous numbers and flew in the service of dozens of countries long after it left Soviet service.
Extent of the set: this is the full sheet, not a narrowed selection. Besides the cockpit equipment, where there are a layered instrument panel, side consoles and belts, it also brings parts for the outside of the airframe, that is, airbrakes with their inner structure, covers, grilles and small steps. The difference against the more concise variants lies exactly in those exterior parts.
Recommended procedure: work in groups. Finish the cockpit first and close the fuselage, and only then start on the exterior parts. Sand away the plastic outlines under the photo-etched parts, or the part will stand above the surface. Make the bends in a bender and dry-fit the finished assemblies while they still hold by friction.
Painting: spray the degreased metal with a primer, then with the color itself, and finally bring it out with a dark wash that runs into the embossed recesses.
The set consists solely of the metal sheet; get the plastic, paints and tools separately.
One last piece of advice: a broken photo-etched part cannot be glued back together, so keep the sheet in its original paper sleeve and cut off only the one part you are working on at any moment.
