The pre-cut Reskit 1:48 masking set for the MiG-29 is an accessory for a plastic kit with which the cockpit frames come out straight and of even width.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds pre-cut masks for a model of the single-seat MiG-29 in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory for the painting stage. The masks are peeled off their backing and transferred straight onto the glazed areas of the model.
The cockpit of the MiG-29 has a one-piece hinged canopy with a prominent windshield frame and side edges that run far back. It is precisely those long, slightly curved edges that cause the most trouble when masking by hand — tape puckers around a curve and the width of the frame starts to vary. In 1:48 scale the frame is a fraction of a millimeter wide, so the difference is immediately apparent on a finished model. A pre-cut shape does away with that problem.
Degrease the glazing before masking, offer the mask up dry and check first that it fits. Only then press it down from the center out to the edges. Spray thin coats and let the paint set before taking the mask off. If you are planning a gloss varnish under the decals, take the masks off before it — otherwise a noticeable step will be left at the edge of the frame.
This is an accessory for a model, not the model itself. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
