The MiG-29 is a Soviet single-seat fighter with twin tail fins, with a strongly shaped blend of the wing into the fuselage and with air intakes that were covered while taxiing, so that the engines did not draw in debris from the runway. The factory designation 9-13 belongs to the version with an enlarged dorsal spine behind the cockpit; it took more fuel and further equipment, so the spine of the aircraft has a noticeably fuller shape than on earlier examples. It is precisely this difference that decides which kit the accessories suit.
Wheels are constantly in view on a model and at the same time they are among the things a basic kit tends to simplify: the tread pattern is shallow, the transition from tire to hub soft and a split part calls for filling. Replacement wheels offer a sharper rendering of the tread and the hub and they do away with slow cleaning up. How many pieces the set holds and which kit it is tuned for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest back, so that the circular outline is preserved. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. Do not paint a tire black, because a dark gray shade with fine dusting at the sidewalls reads more convincingly. Check the color of the hubs against photographs of a particular aircraft, because it differs between operators. If the wheels have flattening from the weight of the aircraft rendered on them, turn them while gluing so that the flat spot points to the ground. Use cyanoacrylate glue for gluing.
A set of wheels is supplied. The model of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
