An injection-molded plastic kit of the American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The Yellow Nose edition refers to the yellow-painted noses that some American fighter groups carried as recognition markings. The box holds injection-molded plastic sprues, a clear part for the teardrop canopy and a decal sheet.
The North American P-51D Mustang is one of the best known fighters of the Second World War. The D version gained a markedly better field of view thanks to its teardrop canopy, heavier armament and long range thanks to drop tanks. Power came from a liquid-cooled Packard Merlin V12. Mustangs escorted bombers deep over enemy territory, and at the end of the war they also served in the Pacific escorting heavy bombers.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid plastic cement. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage up, and mask the clear canopy before spraying. Lay down a primer and treat the polished metal surface either with a metallic finish or with special paints in thin coats from an airbrush. Spray the yellow nose and the bold markings through masks for crisp edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
