A resin set in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer CMK depicting the Palouste Mk.101/102 ground starter unit intended for starting jet engines. This is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory of ground equipment suitable for an airfield diorama. According to the manufacturer the set also contains a photo-etched part and a small sheet of decals.
The Palouste was a small gas turbine which produced compressed air at high velocity to spin up and start the jet engines of aircraft. The unit was housed in a characteristic casing resembling a drop tank and could be carried on a trolley or slung under a wing as an airborne pod, so it served on improvised airfields without fixed equipment as well.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Ground equipment stands out with wear: washes, paint abrasions and dust pigments will give it the credible look of operational equipment.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin accessory. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package.
