A turned metal barrel in 1:48 scale from the Polish firm Aber. It is not a model but an accessory replacing the plastic barrel of a kit. The metal version has a perfectly round profile with no glue seam and an accurate muzzle. This variant matches the earlier barrel of 51 calibers in length for the T-34/85 model 43/44.
The 85 mm ZiS-S-53 gun was the main armament of the T-34/85 medium tank, which markedly raised its firepower over the earlier 76mm versions. On the early production tanks the barrel had a length corresponding to 51 calibers; later machines received a longer barrel.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then fit the metal one and fix it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before gluing and use a primer suitable for metal. Check that the barrel length variant matches the T-34/85 version you are building.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
