Hobby 2000 - Typhoon Mk. IB Gun Barrels (1:48) is a set of 3D printed barrels for the 20 mm cannon for the Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB kits from Hasegawa and Hobby 2000. This is an accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a detail accessory, a set of 3D printed barrels for the wing-mounted 20 mm cannon for a model of the Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB in 1:48 scale. It is neither an aircraft model nor a kit: the package holds no main airframe parts, only the replacement barrels. The set replaces the plastic barrels from the original kit, which tend to be thick, with a visible mold seam and no bore.
The Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB was a British single-engine fighter-bomber with a Napier Sabre engine. In the Mk. IB version it carried four 20 mm Hispano cannon built into the wings, and it is their barrels that suffer most from the simplification of injection-molded plastic on a model. The Typhoon made its name attacking ground targets over Normandy and Western Europe in 1944 and 1945.
For modelers building the Typhoon Mk. IB in 1:48 scale who want to remove one of the greatest weaknesses of the plastic barrels quickly and with minimal work. Installation is undemanding and needs only a sharp tool and a little care, because 3D printed barrels are thin and fragile.
This is an add-on set, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package. When sanding 3D printed parts, work in a well ventilated space and protect your airways.
