The figure represents a modern Chinese sniper. A sniper is a soldier whose appearance is set above all by camouflage and equipment: layered clothing, a helmet or other headgear, a tactical vest and a weapon with a sight. It is precisely these small things that show most on a finished figure, because in a large scale there is nowhere to hide a simplification.
The 1:6 scale is one of the largest a modeler comes across. On an adult figure it works out to a height of around thirty centimeters, so the figure is a display piece in its own right, not an addition to a diorama. The large format gives room for a carefully worked face, transitions on the fabric and the shades of a camouflage pattern, but it also forgives less: every seam left unfinished or every coarse brush stroke is obvious at first glance.
First dry-fit the parts and check how they sit, and only then glue them. Fill the seams on exposed skin and on smooth surfaces and sand them to a feather edge. Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent, let it dry and go over it with primer, so that the paint holds and the shapes show. Paint the face from the bottom up in layers, from the darker tones to the lighter ones, and leave the eyes for the end. Lay out the camouflage pattern from the reference on paper first, because in a large scale the pattern itself is a prominent element.
