An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern British nuclear attack submarine HMS Astute in 1:700 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has a full hull, a low parts count in gray plastic and a display stand and waterslide decals are in the box. It is a quick build that also suits groups in a small scale.
HMS Astute is the lead boat of the class of the same name of British nuclear attack submarines. She is a modern vessel with a characteristic rounded hull and nuclear propulsion, intended for anti-submarine warfare and reconnaissance. She was built at the British yard at Barrow-in-Furness.
Thanks to the low parts count the build is quick; the main thing to watch is clean gluing and sanding of the parting seam of the smooth hull. For painting use matte black or dark gray, a base primer and a matte clear coat; a light emphasis of the hatches will give the model depth in scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
