An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth in 1:700 scale from the firm Trumpeter. The set faithfully captures the characteristic twin-island superstructure (two islands), the flight deck, the hangar and the hull. Photo-etched parts and a set of deck aviation hardware belong to the model - F-35B aircraft and Merlin helicopters - and small deck vehicles as well.
HMS Queen Elizabeth is the lead ship of the aircraft carrier class of the same name of the Royal Navy; she was commissioned in 2017. The ship is unique in its concept with two separate islands on the flight deck. She carries modern F-35B Lightning II aircraft with short take-off and vertical landing and Merlin helicopters.
Decide whether you will build the model with a full hull on a stand or to the waterline. Bond the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and the fine photo-etched parts (railings, aerials) with super glue. A primer and painting with an airbrush are advisable, and emphasis of the panels with a wash suits the decks and the superstructures. Both the hull and the deck will come out well after careful weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
