This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss represents the Russian 152 mm 2S19-M1 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer. The smaller scale and the straightforward build make the model an approachable piece that goes together quickly; the set contains newly tooled parts with faithful detail and decals for two vehicles.
The 2S19 Msta-S is a modern 152 mm self-propelled howitzer that entered service at the end of the 1980s as the successor to older types. Its hull is based on the design of the T-72 tank, with elements of the T-80 running gear added. The Msta-S can fire a wide range of artillery ammunition at long range and is one of the mainstays of Russian artillery.
Even in the smaller scale, assemble the running gear before you close up the hull. Use liquid cement on the plastic and spray the model with an airbrush over a primer. It is worth painting the long barrel and the turret separately. Bring the result to life with light edge highlighting, a wash in the recesses and discreet dust pigments on the running gear: in 1:72 scale, weathering in moderation is enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
