A model of the interwar Avia-Fokker F.VII high-wing transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The type was built under license by the Czechoslovak firm Avia.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fokker F.VII was among the most widespread transport aircraft of the second half of the 1920s and of the 1930s. It was a high-wing monoplane with a thick cantilever wing that needed neither struts nor bracing wires, which was not usual at the time. The fuselage had a frame of welded steel tubing with fabric covering. The construction was simple, durable and easy to repair, which is why the type found its place with airlines and on long-distance flights. The Avia-Fokker designation refers to license production in Czechoslovakia.
Even though this is 1:72, a transport aircraft takes up more room in a display case than a fighter. The span of the assembled model works out at about 30 cm, so count on a shelf to match. The large area of the wing and the flat sides of the fuselage also mean that every unevenness in the spraying will show on them.
Seating the wing above the fuselage is the key step on a high-wing aircraft: check that it is symmetrical and not tilted before the glue hardens. Spray the large areas in several light coats so that the film stays smooth. It pays to mask the cabin and the windows before painting, not after. The marking options and the recommended shades are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue and filler are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
