A printed 3D interior for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the G-2 and G-4 versions in 1:72 scale. It holds equipment for the instrument panel, the side walls and the seat. According to the name it is intended for the Special Hobby and Eduard kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cockpit of the Messerschmitt was famously cramped. The pilot sat between two sidewalls densely occupied by wiring, cocks and distribution boxes, with the panel in a dark gray shade directly in front of him and the gunsight above it. The space was so narrow that the pilot could not turn around, and yet German fighter pilots spent thousands of hours in it. It is this density of equipment that makes the Gustav a rewarding subject for a detailed interior and at the same time a nightmare for anyone who wants to build one from scratch.
Anyone who wants to reproduce the side walls honestly in 1:72 scale usually starts gluing thin plastic strips and stretching wire a tenth of a millimeter thick. It is several evenings of work, after which everything still has to be painted and picked out, and one careless move of the tweezers is enough for a finished wall to be gone. A printed sheet supplies the same thing as a single part that is laid down and pressed into place. The difference in time is an order of magnitude, and the difference in risk is larger still.
The differences between the two makers' molds are small, but we still recommend laying the parts in dry first and trimming any overhang with a scalpel. The kit is not in the box.
