A pair of standing figures of the crew of the CH-53E and MH-53E helicopters in 1:72 scale in the variant designated as type 2. The count of two pieces is given in the name.
Responsibility details are not available.
Reskit lists this item as the type 2 variant, that is with poses arranged differently from the first form. The name gives a package of two pieces. The figures complete the large American helicopters of the H-53 family in a small scale, where it is precisely a human figure that best shows how large the machine is. Anyone who already has the first variant gets two further figures with a different bearing and can put a whole group together around the aircraft.
The three-engine Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion carries cargo, equipment and slung loads for the US Marine Corps and is recognizable by its seven-blade rotor and side sponsons. The MH-53E version works with the Navy on mine countermeasures tasks, towing equipment above the water behind it, and against the transport form it has noticeably larger side fairings with fuel. The crew members on both machines wear a coverall, a helmet with a visor and a vest, so the figures can be used with either real subject.
It is best to start with an overall base in the shade of the coverall, then pick out the raised surfaces and finally darken the folds with a thinly diluted shade. Faces are made most simply in this scale: a skin tone, a fine shadow under the chin and nothing more. The figures are placed only once the base is finished, so that no grit or dust gets caught on them during the work.
