3D-printed engine exhaust nozzles for a MiG-29 model in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. They replace the parts from the kit with a more faithful shape and thin edges.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-29 is a Soviet twin-engine fighter whose turbofan engines with afterburners end in nozzles made up of movable petals. It is precisely the exhaust nozzles that are among the most conspicuous places at the tail of this type. They are usually clearly heat-discolored as well, so on a finished model they draw the eye as much as the cockpit or the landing gear.
The set brings replacement exhaust nozzles produced by 3D printing, shaped for the MiG-29 kit in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. Printing makes it possible to draw the edge of the nozzle down to a thickness that an injection-molded part cannot approach, and to keep the rendering of the individual petals all the way around and inside.
The parts are not polystyrene; they are bonded with super glue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remaining stub carefully, so that the thin edge is not damaged. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint would hold unevenly on the print resin residue. The nozzles are fitted at the very end, after the tail of the aircraft has been sprayed.
The set suits a modeler who wants the tail of the machine without conspicuously thick edges and who plans to use metallic shades on the nozzles or to imitate the heat discoloration of the metal. Working with it is easy; it calls only for a sharp blade and a quiet moment.
The package contains only this set. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
