Curtiss H-16 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine First World War flying boat in 1:72 scale from Roden.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the large twin-engine Curtiss H-16 flying boat from the end of the First World War. It is an injection-molded plastic model in 1:72 scale from Roden. The kit contains a quantity of fine parts and a decal sheet with several marking options.
The Curtiss H-16 was the last of the family of large H type flying boats derived from the British Felixstowe design. The American version differed from the British machines above all in being powered by Liberty V12 engines. The machines served with the Royal Naval Air Service and with the US Navy on maritime patrol and anti-submarine duties.
The model has extensive rigging between the wings and the engine nacelles and a number of small parts, so it suits modelers with some experience. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and make sure the wing spars are firmly seated. The large surfaces of the boat hull come out well after airbrushing and light shading; finish the rigging only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
