An injection-molded plastic kit of the DFS 230B-1 in 1:72 scale from Bronco: the German assault glider without an engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German DFS 230B-1 assault glider in 1:72 scale from Bronco. It is an engineless aircraft, so the model has neither a powerplant nor a propeller; the attention goes to the slender airframe, the glazed cockpit and the interior. Check the actual package contents and the decal options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The DFS 230 was a German assault glider of the Second World War. As an engineless aircraft it was towed behind a tug and, once released, came down quietly and accurately near the objective with a squad of troops aboard. It made its name above all with the daring landing on the Belgian fortress of Eben-Emael in 1940. The B-1 version received a braking parachute for a shorter landing run and a defensive machine gun.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Because it is an engineless glider, there is minimal bracing and the build concentrates on the interior and the glazed cockpit: paint and shade it before closing up and mask the glazing frames. German schemes carried various shades of green and gray; after a gloss coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add fine wear to the fabric covering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
