A resin detail set from Brengun for sharpening up the landing gear of an F-14D Tomcat model in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the plastic wheels with more accurate resin parts carrying a faithful tread pattern and detailed hubs. The wheels are usually cast with a realistic tire flattening under the weight of the aircraft. It is not a model of an aircraft but a small accessory.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with variable-geometry wings. The F-14D Super Tomcat version was the most modern one, with more powerful engines and upgraded avionics. The sturdy landing gear had to take hard touchdowns on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut the casting blocks off carefully so that the tread pattern is not damaged. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Paint the tires a matte dark gray rather than black and pick the hubs out; add dust and dirt with pigments.
