FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 (3D print, 1:72) is a set of printed antennas of the large radar array for models of German night fighters of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 3D-printed resin parts of the large antenna array of the FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 radar in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that refines the nose of a night fighter with its prominent dipole antennas.
The FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 was a later German airborne radar which, because of its lower operating frequency, called for much larger antennas nicknamed Hirschgeweih, meaning stag's antlers. This conspicuous array was carried by night fighters such as the Bf 110, the Ju 88 or the He 219. The large antennas increased drag and cut the aircraft's speed, but they were essential for night interception work in the closing stages of the war.
Take the parts off the print supports and clean off any print resin residue. The long antenna rods are fragile, so bond them with super glue and take care to align the whole array correctly. A base primer is recommended, followed by metallic or dark shades depending on the aircraft you choose.
This is an accessory set, not a stand-alone model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
